Job Title Programmer Analyst (mainframe)

M Corp is looking to bring on-board an experienced Programmer (mainframe) to work side-by-side with our client to support a major IT application as well as interfaces to other mission-critical systems.  The Programmer Analyst will be responsible for duplicating the production environment of the database, the programs, and the processes and potentially additional environments once DD&I testing activities are further refined.

The Programmer Analyst will be responsible for ensuring connectivity to the test environments, maintaining the test environment, and ensuring all transactions are able to function appropriately within the test environment that will be supporting the Project. The Programming Analyst will report to our client’s management team who is responsible for providing technical support to the DD&I activities.

Mandatory Qualifications

As a minimum, each team member must have five (5) years experience in the areas listed below.  Please make sure if you list and of the experience below that the exact terms are displayed in your resume. 

  • Developing and testing in the IBM Mainframe z/OS environment
  • Developing and maintaining applications using Common Business-Oriented Language (COBOL)
  • Maintain and modify DB2 databases
  • Utilizing Job Control Language (JCL)
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office (Visio, Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)

Desired Qualifications

  • Utilizing Time Sharing Option (TSO)
  • Utilizing and/or developing Customer Information Control System (CICS) applications
  • Developing and maintaining applications using Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM) files
  • ADABAS/Natural familiarity
  • Utilize ChangeMan packages
